A Belfast-based online retail business which aims to make the experience of learning the Irish language more enjoyable by incorporating it into beautiful products has secured distribution with one of Ireland’s leading retailers.
As Gaeilge was founded by Rachel Brady (25) in 2021 after she immersed herself in learning the Irish language in her early twenties. The company, which creates Irish-language stationery, homeware, accessories and gifts, has been selected by Carrolls Irish Gifts as the winner of its ‘Fáilte’ initiative, which promotes Irish-designed and locally crafted products, following a rigorous selection process.

As Gaeilge will now showcase its extensive portfolio prominently in the 19 Carrolls Irish Gifts stores across the island of Ireland and online to over 40 countries worldwide as well as receiving valuable business mentoring as part of a comprehensive support package.
Rachel Brady, Founder of As Gaelic said: “We are delighted to have won Carrolls Irish Gifts ‘Failte’ initiative which has given As Gaelic an incredible platform to grow and reach a new customer base around the world – it has the potential to completely transform our business.

Winning this competition has not only given us the opportunity of having our products showcased in Carrolls Irish Gifts stores across the island of Ireland but it has also launched our brand into the global digital spotlight with extensive online promotion.”

“As a small business, very much in its infancy, the personalised business mentoring will give us invaluable guidance across critical areas of our operation. We can't wait to embark on this exciting journey and make the most of these fantastic resources, to propel As Gaeilge to new heights,” Rachel added.
CEO of Carrolls Irish Gifts, Peter Hyland, said: “Carrolls Irish Gifts has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to supporting Irish Businesses, offering them a platform through which they can effectively promote their brand.

As Gaeilge is a captivating business that offers a glimpse into its founder's passionate commitment and vision. Rachel's designs not only communicate her love for the Irish language, but it also encourages consumers to think about how the Irish language, even the shortest, sweetest phrases, enhance connection with this great country whether they are living in Ireland or abroad.”
