Five students from University of Galway and TUS Athlone are taking part in Liberty IT’s first Work Placement Programme to take place from the company’s new Galway hub which will provide a unique insight into a career in technology.

Over an eight-month period, the students will have access to a full suite of Learning and Development resources with both instructor led and virtual training. They will complete a training programme in cloud technology and data, which has been specifically created for them, and will be fully embedded in a Liberty IT team.

Darren Muldoon, Site Lead for Liberty IT’s Galway hub said “We are delighted to roll out our hugely popular work placement programme in Galway for the first time. As the industry leader in digital innovation, STEM is a major focus for us and we invest heavily in supporting the future talent. We are delighted to give students the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience from some of the best talent in tech.

As well as availing of our extensive Learning and Development programmes, which we have invested heavily in, unique opportunity of working on some of our parent company, Fortune-ranked Liberty Mutual Insurance’s, most important and complex business problems and are fully empowered to bring code from idea right through to production.”

Each day I get the opportunity to learn new technologies and skills and it is great to be able to work alongside highly skilled teams - I know this work experience programme is really shaping and enhancing my career in technology.”
